Eight kilometres west of Whistler Village is the former site of a landfill near the Function Junction railroad crossing. The landfill has now been capped, and the area has been transformed into a recreation space to be used by future Whistler residents and visitors. What was once a barren gravel area as overflow parking – is now on its way to becoming pedestrian pathways, and future park facilities.
