BCLNA Golf Tournament
/in Landscape /by Tanya RichardsDenbow recently sponsored a hole at the BC Landscape Nursery Association annual golf tournament. We like to have a little extra fun for the golfers who are waiting their turn a the tee-box – this year we had a “Joey Jump”! Players stomped on the launcher to try and get the joey to land in its mother’s pouch… hilarious 🙂
Congratulations to the BCLNA on a successful tournament!
The Business of Living Architecture
/in Environment, Landscape /by Tanya Richards“Green Roofs, Living Walls and Rain Gardens:BC Business Exports Innovative Technology to North America. For Landscape Architects, the Sky is the Limit!”
In his April 2014 article in Sitelines, a BCSLA publication, Randy Sharp of Sharp & Diamond acknowledges BC Landscape Architects for their success over the past 50 years in living architecture and green roof design. The entire issue is dedicated to the innovations the industry has created.
Page 14 mentions the urban gardens run by SOLEfood farms – Denbow installed soil into the unique raised planters by blower truck.
Read on to page 16 & 17, and Denbow’s technical project coordinator, David Adkins, writes about “The Dynamics of Bio-Engineering and Green Infrastructure”. Let us know what you think or if you have questions about our green infrastructure products.
Global Landscaping Supplies
/in Environment, Landscape, Processing, Uncategorized /by Tanya RichardsWe love our clients, and we love to share their observations about their experience with Denbow:
“We originally contacted Denbow because we were looking for another decorative alternative to rock and regular fir/hemlock bark mulch that was also in a comfortable price range. Our customers are very pleased with the variety of selections and that the product color lasts longer and doesn’t decompose as quickly. Love the vibrant colors and of course the price levels. Denbow’s staff is always friendly, willing to listen and accommodating even given that we are a small landscape yard. We’d always recommend Denbow for the quality and cost of the products as well as the service received. We have also referred Denbow’s mulch blowing service for the unreachable backyards and slopes”

Black Mulch at IMW Industries
/in Landscape /by Tanya RichardsThis morning a couple of our crews started early installing beautiful rich Black Coloured Mulch just down the road from our yard at IMW Industries. Starting early allowed us to complete much of the installation before the first shift employees arrived, requiring use of the parking lot. We’ll complete the project tomorrow morning early!
Sky high installation!
/in Landscape /by Dean RichardsYesterday we installed greenroof soil on a Central City project in Surrey for Architek. We blew the soil 14 stories: that’s 46 meters / 150 feet straight up!!
Santa Hunters – we’re blowing snow
/in Landscape /by Tanya RichardsDid you know that Denbow blows snow for movies, TV shows & commercials and special events? Yes!
The last few weeks we have been working on the set of a TV movie “Santa Hunters”, currently being filmed at various locations around the Lower Mainland. It’s a change of pace for our crew to work on a movie set!
Fundraising House
/in Landscape /by Tanya RichardsA brand new house just completed on Royalwood Crescent in Rosedale was built for a special purpose. Many volunteers gave of their expertise, time and materials to build this rancher with full basement & shop. The house is now listed for sale, and the proceeds of this project will support the Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary (PRTS).
Denbow welcomed the opportunity to donate the soil for the landscaping.
