In his April 2014 article in Sitelines, a BCSLA publication, Randy Sharp of Sharp & Diamond acknowledges BC Landscape Architects for their success over the past 50 years in living architecture and green roof design. The entire issue is dedicated to the innovations the industry has created.

Page 14 mentions the urban gardens run by SOLEfood farms – Denbow installed soil into the unique raised planters by blower truck.

Black Mulch at IMW Industries

This morning a couple of our crews started early installing beautiful rich Black Coloured Mulch just down the road from our yard at IMW Industries.  Starting early allowed us to complete much of the installation before the first shift employees arrived, requiring use of the parking lot.  We’ll complete the project tomorrow morning early!

Yesterday we installed greenroof soil on a Central City project in Surrey for Architek.  We blew the soil 14 stories: that’s 46 meters / 150 feet straight up!!

Santa Hunters – we’re blowing snow

Did you know that Denbow blows snow for movies, TV shows & commercials and special events?  Yes!

The last few weeks we have been working on the set of a TV movie “Santa Hunters”, currently being filmed at various locations around the Lower Mainland.  It’s a change of pace for our crew to work on a movie set!

Fundraising House

A brand new house just completed on Royalwood Crescent in Rosedale was built for a special purpose. Many volunteers gave of their expertise, time and materials to build this rancher with full basement & shop.  The house is now listed for sale, and the proceeds of this project will support the Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary (PRTS).

Denbow welcomed the opportunity to donate the soil for the landscaping.

Denbow employees give custom made gift

At our annual New Year’s Dinner, Denbow employees gave a special gift to owners Bill & Joanne Boesterd.

A custom made wood model of our new b-train trailers!

The model was hand made by a grandpa of one of our driver’s wife.  Mr. Jake Esau spends his time each year making wooden models of equipment from excavators to semi trucks.  He started doing this so that the items could be sold at the Annual MCC sale, with the proceeds supporting various missions projects around the world.  As well, some of the proceeds from his items go to support Pines Bible Camp.  Earlier this year Denbow assisted the camp with site cleanup and grinding following a devastating storm.

Thank you, Mr. Esau, for doing an amazing job – what talent you have! We were happy to support your projects while giving such a unique and personal gift to Bill & Joanne.  Bill is proudly displaying the model in his office.
